Description
West Coast Surf in Gold Resin is an Original Landscape painting of a Wave by Artist Kirsten McIntosh
The West Coast Surf in Gold Resin is based on the painting titled West Coast Surf. I purchased this image. As I haven’t surfed personally – it is on my list of things-to-do.
I was intriqued by the suns rays as it filtered through the water droplets. All of the droplets, what I wanted to capture, took quite some time. My favourite part of this painting is the different colours in the water as if a rainbow is bouncing off the wave.
A great portion of my paintings involve water. There is something special about being near the sea, surf, lakes or rivers.
Additionally, as a result of the original painting turning out beautifully a few similar pieces have been produced in resin which have turned out really well.
Painting images are now available in homeware items – which is amazing. If you would like to see more of what I have on offer please visit my Society 6 page.
I decided to finish this piece in gold tones. As a result, the piece is finished in a multitude of layers of resin which is poured over the acrylic painting which started out as a mirror.
For the most part I always want my works to look consistent. Hence only six or seven colours are used in my paintings. I am trying to achieve harmony within the painting and my whole landscape series.
Please note that due to the reflective nature of resin the photograph is showing some reflections.
Furthermore I am happy to replicate this painting in any colours that you wish – just get in touch through my ‘contact me‘ page.
Thanks for viewing.
