Finished beautifully front and back. Signed on the front with my signature in gold pen and dated on the back.
It is painted on the edges so no need for framing.
Protected with a matt sealant to protect against uv light to stop fading.
This piece is hand painted on a box canvas. This painting has many acrylic and oil layers that build up the colours and depth.

Wairere Falls: An Original NZ Landscape painting of the scene from the top of Wairere Falls by Artist Kirsten McIntosh
Wairere Falls: An Original NZ Landscape Painting is a spot that I have walked to a few times. A challenging but rewarding walk and when you get to the top you get a breathtaking view (over the waterfall) out in to the mighty Waikato. A lot of my friends walk this track frequently and I hope to get up there again soon to catch some images for myself.
This photograph was actually taken by my brother who visited Wairere Falls with his family. It was a scene that I really wanted to paint as it offers so much to me as an artist with lots of lovely techniques challenging my skills. The foliage and the water are always tricky and getting the depth and layering amongst the trees.
A very beautiful place to visit with lots of magical spots along the way – as you catch your breath.
Futhermore I would like for all of my works to look consistent so I only use six or seven colours in my paintings. I am trying to achieve harmony within the painting and my whole landscape series.
I’d love for you to check out some of my other landscape paintings.
This painting is available through Welcome Swallow Gallery & Gifts. You can either liaise directly with that gallery or purchase through my website and I will advise the gallery accordingly.
