Description
Towards Te Aroha: NZ Landscape Painting of The Top of the Snake at TeMiro Mountain Bike Track by Kirsten McIntosh
Towards Te Aroha NZ Landscape Painting is photographed from the Mountain Bike Track ‘The Snake’ which faces beautiful farmland overlooking Te Aroha beyond.
When I am not painting or spending time with family and friends I train for adventure races. Hence this means a bit of Mountain Biking.
In Cambridge we are fortunate enough to have an amazing Te Miro Mountain Bike Track and one of the tracks is called ‘The Snake’. Yes it is as steep and as windy as it sounds! Now that I have been up it multiple times it is not as hard as at first – but nevertheless it is still amazing to reach the top and look out at the amazing view.
Every time I go there, I capture a different image and I love how the light catches the hills. A beautiful waikato farmland scene of rolling hills and coloured fields.
For the most part I always want my works to look consistent. Hence only six or seven colours are used in my paintings. I am trying to achieve harmony within the painting and my whole landscape series.
