Original Contemporary Resin painting by Artist Kirsten McIntosh – Specks of Gold

Specks of Gold is an experimental abstract/contemporary painting which uses a resin pouring technique.

This was my first attempt (hence the price), I like all of the colours how they merge together.

I crushed up some pastel and when I flamed the resin they burst, which gave a nice look to the piece.  I especially love the gold in the piece which makes it pop.

I am in an experimentational phase in my art journey.  I am trying to find the best fit for my work and style.  It is so cool to explore new ideas and avenues.

It is difficult moving from a realist style as with resin you lose all control.  Resin moves around and off the painting and you never know exactly how it is going to turn out.

Please note that due to the reflective nature of resin the photograph is showing some reflections.
