Finished beautifully front and back. Signed on the front with my signature in gold pen.
It is painted on the edges so no need for framing.
Protected with a matt sealant to protect against uv light to stop fading.
This piece is hand painted on a box canvas. This painting has many oil/acrylic layers that build up the colours and depth.
This comes ready to hang and shipped in safe & packaging. This painting was completed in 2017.

Rain over Taotaoroa Road and Maungatautari is an Original New Zealand Landscape painting of Maungatautari Mountain by Artist Kirsten McIntosh
Rain over Taotaoroa Road and Maungatautari photograph was purchased from a photographer. The strong colours of the image, the contrast and highlights on the hills versus the dramatic clouds is what I was drawn to. This is a very iconic piece of landscape in our town of Cambridge. Maungatautari is often described as toku maunga (my mountain). Furthermore my two sons and I have been on many school trips to this mountain. I have also traversed it which was spectacular. Consequently a trip to the birdlife sanctuary was made and it was incredible. It is a wonderful mountain to visit for so very many reasons!
The painting also has an acrylic underpainting to try and create depth.
The image is of Taotaoroa Road with Mount Maungatautari in the distance, near Cambridge New Zealand.
I really feel that the colours merge in this painting and it is very cohesive. The rich colours in this painting are unified. I only use five or so colours so that all of my work has a consistent look.
