Description

Pushing the Boundaries of Beauty in Cardrona: NZ Landscape Painting of an a beautiful scene in Cardrona, South Island  by Artist Kirsten McIntosh

Pushing the Boundaries of Beauty in Cardrona: NZ Landscape Painting was captured whilst visiting some friends in Cardrona.  An amazing spot to absorb the beauty of late summer.

The South Island of New Zealand offers so many amazing opportunities to gain photos for painting.  Especially this area, Queenstown Lakes District, which is breathtakingly beautiful.

With this in mind I decided to give the painting its name.  I felt the scene was pushing the boundaries of beauty.  Inspired by Nature!

My favourite part of this painting is all of the colours in the hills along with the grasses and wildflowers.

It is a scene that I will paint again and again.  Next summer our family plans a trip to Te Anau.  I can’t wait to capture some more images for the next series of works.

As a rule I always want my works to look consistent.  Hence only six or seven colours are used in my paintings.  I am trying to achieve harmony within the painting and my whole landscape series.

Prints of this artwork are available on request through my contact page.

Thanks for viewing.
