Idyllic Lake Rotoehu Framed Calendar Art
We have a little bach at the village of Lake Rotoehu at Otautau Bay Rotorua. This is the view that we see from the reserve in front of the lake.
It is a place where we go and spend time with family and friends and relax. It is simply “Idyllic”. When not relaxing it is a perfect opportunity for hiking, swimming, boating, mountain biking and water sports – a perfect summer holiday!
I really love the colours in this piece especially the green/aqua colours in the waters edge.
Furthermore I always want my works to look consistent. Six or seven colours are used in my paintings. I am trying to achieve harmony within the painting and my whole landscape series.
I really enjoyed painting all of the reflections and creating the ripples in the water. The rush’ reflections proved difficult to get right as reflections in the water are usually a deeper colour value.
My husband took this photo and he did a really good job in capturing all of the rich and beautiful colours.
If we are not spending time at the lake there is so much on offer in Rotorua City or you can head to the ocean and visit Pukehina Beach which is only a short drive away – something for everyone!
Futhermore I would like for all of my works to look consistent so I only use six or seven colours in my paintings. I am trying to achieve harmony within the painting and my whole landscape series.
