Description
Facing West Warrant Expired Limited Edition Framed Print: NZ Landscape Painting of a 51 Chevy painted by Kirsten McIntosh
Facing West Warrant Expired Limited Edition Framed Print. A friend took this photo of this old 51 Chevrolet. It was sitting needing a bit of tender loving care. Shortly after this car was sold to someone who might do just that.
I thought it would be rather nice to have some prints produced of this artwork.
Painting images are now available in homeware items – which is amazing. If you would like to see more of what I have on offer please visit my Society 6 page.
I had to produce some works for an exhibition and the theme was ‘Facing West’. So I thought that this painting would work for this theme.
The challenge for me in this painting was that it was the first car that I had painted. Getting the iconic shapes into the front part of the car was challenging yet rewarding. Also the reflections on the windows was a new one for me – but I loved the challenge. I enhanced the colours to give the car a bit of life and enjoyed painting the NZ native bush in behind the old girl.
For the most part I always want my works to look consistent. Hence only six or seven colours are used in my paintings. I am trying to achieve harmony within the painting and my whole landscape series.
Furthermore, prints of the original artwork are available on request through my contact page.
Thanks for viewing.
