Description
Cardrona in Late Summer: NZ Landscape Painting An Original NZ Landscape painting of the Cardrona by Artist Kirsten McIntosh
Cardrona in Late Summer: NZ Landscape Painting was captured whilst visiting some friends in Cardrona (near Queenstown) in New Zealand. I love the colours in the hills and the wild tussock grass. An amazing spot to absorb the beauty of late summer.
The South Island of New Zealand offers so many amazing opportunities to gain photos for painting. Especially this area, Queenstown Lakes District, which is breathtakingly beautiful.
My favourite part of this painting is the clouds in that I love their shape and form. This whole painting was a joy to paint and it practically painted itself. It is a scene that I will paint again and again. Next summer our family plans a trip to Te Anau so I can’t wait to capture some more images for this next series of works.
Futhermore I always want my works to look consistent. Six or seven colours are used in my paintings. I am trying to achieve harmony within the painting and my whole landscape series.

Thanks for viewing.
